Introduction to Canoeing — 3 Hrs

This course focuses on the skills necessary to maneuver a canoe efficiently and gracefully through the water. We will introduce novice paddlers to tandem and solo canoeing, and cover topics including outfitting the canoe with appropriate gear, positioning oneself in the canoe and techniques used to handle the canoe in adverse conditions. Skills and confidence gained during this lesson will make your next time on the water safer and more enjoyable.

Whitewater Canoeing — 2 Days

Learn to handle a canoe in moving and white water conditions from experienced canoeists. Instruction takes place over two days and is held on the Cowichan River on Vancouver Island. The course covers paddling and safety techniques suitable for river and other white water playgrounds. An optional follow up day allows for more practice and coaching.

Cost: $295 Winter / Spring
Accommodation at Warm Rapids Inn + 1 dinner, 2 breakfasts: $135

Prerequisite: basic strokes and comfort in a canoe.

Whitewater Canoeing Play & Practice

If you've already taken our 2-day whitewater instruction, or have equivalent experience, come on down for a day of fun and coaching! This is a great follow-up or refresher for anyone wanting to improve their skills.

Cost: $125 (includes equipment if needed)

Prerequisite: our 2-day whitewater instructional course, or equivalent experience on the water
